Individual & Family Therapy

People often seek psychotherapy when they have tried other approaches to solving a personal problem, such as people who are suffering from depression, alcohol or drug addiction, phobias (such as a fear of heights), anxiety and obsessive/compulsive disorders.

Sometimes people may want to talk to a therapist about problems they would feel uncomfortable discussing with friends or family, such as being sexually abused as a child.

Dr. Houle is a psychologist who is objective, knowledgeable about emotional problems, and has his patients’ best interests at heart.

Dr. Houle  develops educational and treatment techniques that can be tailored to each individual's needs.

Three essential steps characterize his approach:

  • deciding what the individual can do to ameliorate the problem;
  • devising a program to weaken undesirable behavior and strengthen desirable substitute behavior;
  • carrying out the treatment program according to sound psychological principles.

People with psychological disorders can suffer terribly, often experiencing disturbing symptoms that make it difficult for them to work, relate to others, and cope with the demands of everyday life.

Dr. Houle can help.
