It's one
thing to train a child to behave appropriately in a highly
structured classroom setting and quite another to have that
child exhibit that behavior in a less structured one.
The transfer
of treatment approach attempts to bridge that gap.
We want
the student to move from a highly restrictive classroom environment
to a less restrictive state such as a regular classroom and
to transfer the gains made at school to the home environment.
The IBE
transfer of treatment techniques are empirically based. They
are designed for each individual student's needs and are integrated
into the total treatment program.
